Why the Progress Tracker steps are not marked as completed?

The steps will not be automatically marked as completed due to the highly customizable nature of the steps. Each step must be manually marked as you progress through your case.

As a best practice, it is advisable to mark the steps as completed when you finish them in order to accurately record the date of completion.

Thus, attempting to mark all the steps as done at once could incorrectly indicate that all the steps were completed in a single day, which may not reflect the actual case.

Note: The decision to refrain from implementing automatic step marking at this time is based on the consideration that while automating the marking of completed steps is relatively straightforward, it would restrict the level of customization that we presently provide.
